What is Career Day?
 
Career Day is a day-long event where representatives from local and national companies from the public and private sectors come to Western Michigan University to talk informally with area students.
 
Career Day offers students the chance to familiarize themselves with the companies. Company representatives then have an opportunity to acquaint thmselves with the students and with programs of study at WMU and other surrounding colleges. They also provide students with information about their companies.

Each year, Career Day attracts over 3,000 young men and women from undergraduate and graduate programs whose objectives are to meet informally with company representatives and discuss possible employment opportunities. These programs of study include:

 Who Organizes and Sponsors Career Day?

 

Career Day © 2008 at Western Michigan University is organized and sponsored each year by the student members of Alpha Kappa Psi Fraternity, Gamma Tau Chapter. As a chapter of the oldest National Professional Business Faternity in the country, these young men and women organize and administer this special day for the benefit of students by bringing business and industry closer to the students of area colleges. These colleges include: Western Michigan University, Kalamazoo College, Davenport Business College, and other local community colleges.

 

Cost to attend Career DayCareer Day is free for all students! Unfortunately, we must charge companies attending a nominal fee, which covers parking, lunch, and a booth/table. Once a company registers for Career Day, we will send out an invoice for the fee and a response card requesting the names of the individuals attending and anything special they will need.

 

Please fill out the form on the Registration Page to sign up for Career Day. Even if you decide not to attend this year's event, please fill out the form so we may add you to our database. We will send email out to inform your company when the next Career Day will be held.

Beginning in 2008 Alpha Kappa Psi has partnered with the Haworth College of Business Career Center to co-sponsor Career Day © 2008. As a result we are changing our processes to become more efficient for companies as well as for students. For companies, we your payments and reservations can be processed through our new reservation system provided through the Experience Network. For our students, please check your WMICH e-mail accounts to give you the most updated information on companies attending, workshops and other important announcements.
